Melissa is a Strength and Conditioning Coach and Athletic Therapist. While completing her undergraduate degree in Athletic Therapy at Sheridan College Melissa captained the varsity volleyball team for four years. During her seasons as an athlete she set school records for most points in a season, most career points, most career aces, most kills in a season, most career kills, was named 3x MVP, athlete of the year, and awarded the academic/athletic award of excellence. Within the OCAA she was named rookie of the year, a 4x all-star, and CCAA Academic All-Canadian.

When it comes to athletics Melissa has played several roles aside from being a player herself. She has helped many injured athletes return to sport during her internships at various rehabilitative clinics while completing her undergraduate program. During her final season of competitive sport she completely tore her ACL, effectively ending her season and requiring reconstructive surgery. She believes that while this injury was devastating at the time, it has really helped her better understand injured athletes and improve her ability to aid in their rehabilitation process. Melissa’s experience with injury prevention and rehabilitation has helped her tremendously on her journey to becoming the most effective strength and conditioning coach possible.
